New Missions:

A missionary team comprising of Elder T. V. Rao, Elder V. Jacob Sudhakar Rao and Mrs. Vagiri Deena, visited Punjab. Punjab is a very important state in the North West of India.  It is bounded by other Indian states of Haryana, Rajasthan, Jammu and Kashmir and Pakistan on the West.  The India-Pakistan border is situated at Wagah, about 32 kilometers from Amritsar, which is the most important city in Punjab. The Golden Temple – The Holy Shrine of the Sikh religion is situated in this city.
The other important cities are Chandigarh (state capital), Jalandar and Ludhiana.
Sikhism is the major religion with 60 per cent of the population following this religion.  Sikhism is the fifth largest organized religion in the world.  The population of Christians is about 1.21 per cent only.
We conducted Pastors’ Conference for two days that is on 15th and 16th July, 2015.

About 40 Pastors/evangelists from different parts of Punjab like Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Khanna, Mohali, Jalandar etc attended the Conference. These pastors work independently without any financial support from any organization.
Most of the congregations gather in the open space in front of the small single room tenement of the members under the open sky exposed to direct sun.  We are helping two small congregations in the construction of the church buildings – one in Ludhiana and another in Gurdaspur.
We request you to pray for the completion of these two church buildings and extend your generous financial support.  For more details you may write to Pastor Jacob at email ID

Nepal is a small, landlocked country situated between India and China. Nepal is famous for the world's highest mountain, Mount Everest, and the birthplace of Lord Buddha- founder of the Buddhist religion.  Formerly known as Kingdom of Nepal, it is now called Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal.  It is a multiethnic, multilingual and multi religious country.
A major earthquake struck Nepal on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at about 12 noon, killing over 9000 people and injuring over 25,000 people and damaging several thousands of structures.
The Missionary Team Members Elder Jacob S. Rao, Zone – 4, (Asia) Representative, IMC, CoG7 and Mrs. Deena Rao, Treasurer, Association of the Churches of God (Seventh Day), India, visited Kathmandu, Nepal from November 3-7, 2015.
We conducted Pastors’ Conference for two days, which is on 4th and 5th November, 2015.  About 30 Pastors’ including five women gospel workers from different places of Nepal, some pastors travelling for two days by bus and one day walking on foot, attended the Pastors’ Conference.
During the Pastors' Conference, a study of the various traditions in the churches and compared it with what the Holy Scriptures say about such traditions was done. We encouraged the Pastors to study and verify whether
Whatever they believe and teach others are in accordance with the Holy Scriptures or whether they are the traditions of the church/men.

We request you to pray for the church in Nepal and extend your support for the pastors and construction of a few church buildings.  Please see the photos of the church under construction of Pastor Badri. We may also extend our support for the Orphans and widows ministry in Nepal for the orphans and widows who are victims of the earthquake.

We request you to pray for the growing church in Nepal and extend your generous financial support for the widows and orphans and the pastors.  For more details you may write to Pastor Jacob at email ID coghydvjsr@hotmail.com
We request the brethren in North America and Canada, who wish to financially support the ministry in India, to continue to send their offerings to the COG7 Offices in Denver, Colorado, and earmark them for the specific ministry, project or “Jacob Rao - General Funds for Ministries n India.”
Evangelism/Bible Distribution:
Our team of dedicated and ordained ministers, evangelists and voluntary members spread the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ to the unsaved people in the community by various methods:

  1.  Sharing the good news by printing and distributing booklets, tracts in English and many local languages.
  2. Preaching the Word of God in our community churches, conducting revival meetings and gospel crusades.
  3. Free distribution of Bibles.  We need 5000 copies of Bibles for Free Distribution in Kerala and other parts of the country. (The cost of each Bible is US $ 4.00 and we request our brothers and sisters to sponsor at least 10 Bibles at a time
  4. We want to expand our outreach by broadcasting in Christian Television channels which have come up in some of the states in India.
  5. Visiting Old Age Homes, Orphanages and preaching the gospel and helping with basic amenities.

The Church of God (Seventh Day) in India is growing rapidly.  We have our congregations/ churches in East and West Godavari Districts, Khammam and Krishna Districts, Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy Districts of Andhra Pradesh, Mizoram, Assam, West Bengal, Arunachal Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Punjab states in India, and beyond in Nepal, Myanmar and Pakistan.
